Focus on Safety

Safe marine operations are critical for quality of life on any waterway, and Hannah Marine is committed to keeping waterways clean and safe. We are actively involved in organizations dedicated to safe marine transport These include:

• American Waterways Operators: Hannah Marine has supported the Responsible Carrier Program, a set of operating guidelines and procedures focused on safety on board, in the yard and in the environment. Hannah Marine officers have often been regional directors for this national organization.
• Illinois River Carriers Association: Hannah Marine officers are past board members of this politically active group that interfaces with the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to address issues that affect the Illinois River and the greater Chicago area.
• Hannah Marine also works with the Great Lakes Carrier Association in developing responses to important life safety and environmental issues throughout the Great Lakes.
